How do I play blackjack?

Beat the dealer's hand without going over 21. You're dealt two cards and can draw more to improve your total. The hand closest to 21 without exceeding it wins.

What is a "blackjack"?

A blackjack is an opening two-card total of 21 — an Ace with a 10-value card (10, Jack, Queen, or King). It's the strongest hand in the game.

What are the card values?

Number cards (2–10) are worth face value; face cards (J, Q, K) are worth 10; Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever benefits your hand.

Can I split my hand?

Splitting lets you separate two same-value cards into two hands, each with its own bet. This option is coming soon to Llamabet.

What does "double down" mean?

Doubling down doubles your bet in exchange for exactly one more card — used when you believe your hand is strong.

What happens if I bust?

If your total exceeds 21 you bust, and you lose your bet for that hand automatically.

How is the winner determined?

Whoever is closer to 21 without going over wins. If the dealer busts, remaining players win. Equal totals are a push, and your bet is returned.

Can I count cards online?

Card counting isn't against the rules, but it's ineffective online because each hand is freshly shuffled from a provably-random deck.
