Why the RTP is written as a fraction
Most slots quote a return to player and expect you to take it on faith, because the figure emerges from reel strips and a paytable that are never published. Ours are both published, and the outcome space is small enough to add up completely: eight symbols on five reels is 32,768 combinations, each with a known integer weight. So the return is an exact rational number:
That is where the odd-looking multipliers in the paytable come from. A llama pair pays 1.75× and three llamas pay 12.17× rather than a rounder number precisely because those are the values that put the enumerated return on 96.00%. Prettier multipliers would mean a vaguer edge, and we would rather have the exact figure.
